It was one freeway exit past Sycuan, so not too much further, and mostly freeway, about 25 miles east of where we live. Luckily, this time we could go early in the day and mid-week-on a Thursday and it is now mid-September, so off season so that was good. We go to Sycuan several times a year for dinner and light gambling, and we go on a Las Vegas vacation about once a year, but even that is getting expensive for us, so we were anxious to see what the other local casinos had to offer. My husband had told me that he wanted to go to Viejas Casino for a little dinner date at their buffet because, unlike Barona, they gave you $10 free slot play when you join their players club, plus 20% off their crab leg and prime rib buffet, so off we went.
